
Nico Lange
Founder and director of the Institute for Risk Analysis and International Security (IRIS)
Nico Lange is the founder and director of the Institute for Risk Analysis and International Security (IRIS) and a Senior Fellow with the Transatlantic Defense and Security Program at the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA) in Washington, D.C. From 2019 to 2022, he served as Chief of Staff at the German Federal Ministry of Defence and from 2022 to 2026 as a Senior Fellow at the Munich Security Conference. His work focuses on European security and defence, Russia’s war against Ukraine, military strategy, and emerging technologies in defence.
